As the name implies, Naval Brass is a type of Copper alloy which contains an added percentage of Tin ranging from 1 to 1.50% which makes it a preferable choice for parts and components that are submerged in Sea water for a very long time. It has got excellent capacity to withstand against corrosion resistance which makes it ideal to use it widely in marine applications.
The addition of Tin also gives Naval Brass a high resistance to dezincification. Dezincification is a type of dealloying in which one of the constitutes of an alloy is removed by corrosion.
