Brass, an alloy of Copper made with Zinc has been around for several centuries. "Free machining/Free Cutting Brass" refers to the ability of a material to be easily machined or cut into a desired shape with minimal effort and tool wear.
Free Machining Brass refers to the Machinability of the alloy and it sets the standard against which Machniability of other alloys is measured. Commonly used in electrical components, fasteners, fittings, and small precision parts, free machining brass is favored for applications requiring intricate shapes and tight tolerances.
Free machining brass alloys are specifically designed to enhance machinability, making them suitable for applications where ease of machining is crucial.
No other metal or alloy can be turned or machined faster, longer or more consistently than Free Cutting Brass. Free-Cutting Brass achieves its high machinability primarily from the few percent of lead contained in the alloy. Free Machining Brass is one of the most useful Alloy Family because of its unique combination of properties which includes Strength, Ductilty, Hardness, Machinability, Recyclability and Corrosion Resistance.
