Forgings made from Copper based alloys offer a number of advantages over products made by other processes. Hot forgings are used in virtually every industry: pipe fittings, domestic faucets, radiator valves, gas appliances, window and door hardware being merely a few typical examples of the products which can be manufactured by this process. Good tolerances are maintained during forgings, minimizing the need for machining during the final component production, while the severely wrought structure ensures high mechanical properties. As a result of hot working, forged materials have superior density and freedom from flaws.
CZ122 is one of the most common and preferred grade used in the Forging Industry. Also known as Stamping Brass, it has excellent capacity for Hot forming and is easy to machine where high quality surface can be achieved. CZ122 also exhibits good resistance against corrosion. All these properties makes it an excellent choice to produce complex hot pressed components.
