C-27200 : LEAD FREE BRASS

DESCRIPTION

Lead Free Brass also known as Yellow Brass or Muntz Metal comes with about 60% Copper, 40% Zinc and minor traces of other impurities. Due to the specific mixture of different metals, this alloy is highly resistant to corrosion in the high seas. Because of its cost effective nature and incredible durability, it has grown past its original maritime use to architectural,, plumbing and industrial applications.

C27200 is the major brass alloy for the cold forming process. Even though brasses with lower Zinc content have better cold forming properties, C27200 is the most used alloy. Reasons for this are on the one hand economical due to lower price of Zinc compared to Copper, on the other hand the forming properties of this alloy meet the demand of many applications.
